As you know, we lodged a dispute against CBA at the Fair Work Commission (FWC) on behalf of Bankwest members over our Bankwest Enterprise Agreement (EA).
The FWC’s role is not to compel or make a determination on our issue, but to assist us in reaching a resolution through conciliation.
We attended the conciliation session last Friday in Perth, where a robust exchange of views took place between the FSU and CBA regarding the key outstanding issues.
We shared recent feedback from member meetings and made it clear to the bank that they need to do more for us to secure an acceptable EA.
Although CBA has refused to negotiate on the duration of the Agreement, our aim remains to secure the best possible outcome for members.
We’ve detailed our requirements to CBA, which they are considering, while we continue to meet to resolve any outstanding matters. A follow-up conciliation session with the FWC will take place in a few weeks if we cannot reach an agreement.
Show our commitment to voting no
We will keep you updated as this matter progresses, but it’s important to note that this process does not guarantee a positive outcome. That is why it is vital that we continue to show CBA that we’ll be voting NO if they put this dodgy deal to a ballot.
If you haven’t already, commit to vote No today and encourage your colleagues (and everyone you know!) to do the same.
If you’re not a member, now is the time to join. Let’s show CBA we’re standing together to stop them from turning us into CBA Lite!
FSU Campaign Manager Paul Blackmore, FSU workplace representative Damian Egan, FSU National Assistant Secretary Jason Hall and FSU workplace representative George Curnow attended the conciliation session at the FWC in Perth on Friday.
