After thousands of us signed the open letter demanding a better pay offer, we finally have a breakthrough!
At our negotiation meeting this week Westpac management conceded on their previous position and we now have a new offer that matches pay increases provided by the other major banks.
We will be reviewing management’s latest proposed package for our new Enterprise Agreement (EA) and want to ensure everyone can have a say.
Please register for one of our FSU meetings:
Tuesday 30 July 1pm (AEST)
Wednesday 31 July 7pm (AEST)
In management’s new proposal, tier 1 pay would increase from 10.5% to 12.5% over three years, while tier 2 pay would increase from 7.8% to 9% over the same period. This change will place Westpac tier 1 employees above the increases recently secured by ANZ workers and matches the increase NAB workers won in their last Agreement. Tier 2 increases are now directly comparable to NAB and CBA.
Additionally, Westpac has proposed an extra lifestyle/wellbeing day, increasing from two days in our current EA to four days in this proposal.
This significant shift from the bank is a direct result of the collective action taken by thousands of us over the last two months.
The outcome of this bargaining process will set our pay and conditions for the coming years, so make sure you register for one of our meetings above and invite your colleagues.
