Westpac management has presented their initial pay offer, and it’s clear they’ve once again chosen profits over staff. The offer is even lower than that of two years ago, with an average 3.5% increase per year for tier one employees and 2.6% per year for tier two.
This falls way short of our FSU position of 5% for each year of the Enterprise Agreement for all staff, and far behind increases won by staff at the other major banks.
Westpac’s insulting pay offer will put us under even more pressure.
The FSU is holding an urgent reps meeting via Zoom on Wednesday 5 June at 7pm (AEST) to discuss management’s insulting initial pay proposal. This will be followed by mass FSU workplace meetings to report back and discuss how we close this huge pay gap.
