The Victorian Government has committed to legislate the right to work from home for at least two days a week.

Has your employer suspended their in-office mandate?
Our union recently called on employers in the finance sector to suspend in-office…
The Victorian Government has committed to legislate the right to work from home for at least two days a week.
Our union strongly supports this commitment and we’re encouraging the Federal Government to follow suit by enshrining the same entitlement in national legislation.
As we know, working from home has transformed our work/life balance. Yet despite the mounting evidence showing it benefits everyone (workers and employers), many employers are attempting to strip back WFH without justification by implementing office attendance mandates.
NAB and Insignia are the latest examples of this, but there are many more.
And while many finance employers already offer flexible work from home arrangements, most employers have refused to include these entitlements in their enterprise agreements.
Remember, policies can be changed on a whim. Enterprise agreements must be approved by workers.
Our very own FSU National Assistant Secretary Nicole McPherson discussed the benefits of WFH on Channel 10 News last night. Check it out below.

Having Victoria-wide (and hopefully nation-wide) legislation that enshrines WFH as a right will help us negotiate even more strongly for enterprise agreements that recognise and respect our right to flexibility.
