Unity Bank: Our Fair Work bargaining dispute and next steps

At our stop-work meeting on 24 September, FSU members agreed to lodge a bargaining dispute with the Fair Work Commission (FWC) to help break the impasse in negotiations. The FSU has now lodged the dispute, and last week we attended an initial conciliation meeting.

Where things stand

Bargaining is at a crucial stage. Negotiations will continue on Thursday 12 November, followed by a report-back to the FWC on Friday 13 November on how they are progressing. The outcome of that report-back will help shape the next steps in our campaign.

Members have consistently made clear that we want an Enterprise Agreement that delivers fairness, consistency and respect across the whole workforce.

We have also been in contact with Trades and Labour Councils, peak union bodies and Unity Bank’s partner unions across the country, building support as we continue to push for a fair outcome for all employees.

Join us at the Unity Bank AGM

The Unity Bank Annual General Meeting is a chance to raise this issue directly with the board. Our union will be attending the AGM and we encourage members to join our delegation in person.

  • When: Tuesday 17 November, 3pm (AEDT)
  • Where: Level 25, 201 Elizabeth Street, Sydney

If you are interested in joining the delegation, please reply to this email and we'll be in touch.

Can’t make it in person? You can still ask questions virtually. Details are available in Unity Bank’s notice of the 2026 Annual General Meeting.

Stay involved

Please stay engaged, talk with your colleagues about what is happening, and keep an eye out for further campaign updates.
