Consultation extended after member questions – Suncorp Bank Consumer Distribution

Last week, ANZ announced a major restructure across the Suncorp Bank Consumer Distribution teams and commenced the consultation process.

Following significant feedback and questions from members, ANZ has now extended the consultation period until Tuesday 25 November.

This extension didn’t simply happen – it occurred because workers stood up, exercised their rights and demanded clarity.

Members continue to raise serious concerns and expect ANZ to provide clear and direct answers. This includes:

  • What is driving these proposed changes
  • What changes are being proposed per team
  • How ANZ intends to adjust workloads
  • How ANZ believes these changes do not breach its commitments to the Federal Government.

We have also requested information on how members can access accurate estimates of their redundancy, redeployment and retrenchment entitlements given the absence of a self-service tool.

Workers deserve transparency, not vague assurances or partial explanations.

We expect ANZ to respond to these matters as a priority so employees can meaningfully participate in the consultation process and protect their rights.
