Do I have a right to flexible work?

“The arrangement I have in place means I don’t have to put my kids into before and after school care, and it means I’m actually here for my kids while completing a 40-hour work week.” – FSU member

Having good work/life balance goes to the heart of what we stand for as union members. At the end of the day, most of us work to live, not live to work.

Whether it’s the ability to regularly work from home or having other flexible work arrangements in place to accommodate our personal circumstances, employees have rights and entitlements that union members have worked hard to secure over many years to get the balance right.

So what exactly is a flexible work arrangement, and do you qualify for one?

And if your employer refuses your request, how can you dispute it?

Our member fact sheet contains the answers to all these questions and more – you can read it here.

No employee should be shy about exercising our legally protected rights. If you’d like to explore your options, contact our Member Rights Centre today on 1300 366 378 or email [email protected].
