Bendigo Bank Technology outsourcing – your feedback could help our dispute

The FSU has lodged a dispute in the Fair Work Commission (FWC) after Bendigo Bank announced its so-called ‘strategic partnership’ with Infosys – which could result in up to 1000 technology workers being outsourced and offshored.

We have heard loud and clear that technology workers do not believe they have enough information regarding this dramatic change. Our dispute calls out the bank’s complete and utter failure to meet its consultation obligations.

Despite this overwhelming feedback, Bendigo Bank has refused to extend the consultation period. That's why we've called for an urgent hearing in the FWC, which will take place tomorrow.

However, our dispute does not prevent Bendigo Bank from continuing with its proposed changes – which is why we now need to hear from you.

Please complete our short questionnaire to help us gather the necessary evidence for our dispute. Your responses will remain confidential, but are essential to demonstrate the severe impact the bank’s reckless decisions are having on staff.

Other actions you can take now

There are other steps you can take right now to protect yourself and ensure your rights are upheld:

  • keep providing feedback to management and ask questions about the changes (even though the consultation period has ended).
  • obtain copies of your current contract and other policies that outline your benefits at Bendigo Bank.
  • obtain a copy of your position description – if it does not accurately reflect your current work, keep a record of your duties.
  • ensure your service date and accrued entitlements are correctly recorded in Bendigo Bank’s HR system – keep a record/screenshot of these.

Importantly, stay engaged and keep the FSU informed of any changes or information you hear. You can join our WhatsApp chat for Bendigo Bank employees here.
