Bupa’s silence on nine-day fortnight trial

As you may be aware, Bupa commenced its trial of a nine-day fortnight back in 2023, thanks to our union negotiating this in our last enterprise agreement.

Despite ample opportunity, Bupa still has not provided an update of the trial’s progress – and staff are rightfully wondering where management are up to in determining whether the trial has been a success and if it will be made permanent.

We have now written to Bupa management, requesting a response to various questions about the nine-day fortnight trial. You can read our email here.

FSU members have overwhelmingly reported that they are in favour of the nine-day fortnight arrangement (if you haven’t had your say yet, you can still complete our short survey here).

Now it’s time for Bupa to be transparent about the trial and its future.

We’ll keep you updated on Bupa’s response. In the meantime, if you’re not yet part of the team that’s fighting for Bupa employees, now is the time to join to ensure you get the best representation.
