Our union lodged a dispute against ANZ over the bank’s failure to properly consult employees following CEO Nuno Matos’s decision to cut 3500 jobs.

Our actions are already getting results

Yesterday, Acting ANZ Group Executive, Australia Retail Bruce Rush confirmed that the collective strength of members in Australian Retail has already forced ANZ to back down on parts of its plan.

Thanks to FSU members standing together and speaking out:

• staff can now preference roles at higher grades.
• around 100 roles have been won back into the proposed future structure.

This is a terrific step forward, but ANZ must do more. We are demanding:

• Clear details on what work will actually stop under Nuno Matos’s plan.
• Transparency about which teams and employees are still at risk.
• Real, tangible support for workers losing their jobs – and for those left behind facing heavier workloads and ongoing uncertainty.

Anything less is unacceptable.
