Four-day work week at Hostplus? Share your thoughts

Our union is pushing for a four-day work week to be trialled at Hostplus as part of our next Enterprise Agreement, which we are currently negotiating.

To help us convince Hostplus it’s a good idea, we’d love to hear your thoughts!

In particular, we are calling for the 100:80:100 model to be trialled – 100% pay, 80% of our time, while maintaining 100% of our work output.

We believe this particular model can be successfully implemented at Hostplus (it wouldn’t be the first trial we’ve secured in the finance sector!). Studies have shown many benefits for organisations that implement the four-day work week, including better work-life balance, a boost to employees’ wellbeing and morale, increased productivity, and better staff recruitment and retention.

According to 4 Day Week Global, over 2000 companies across 35 countries are trialling the four-day work week. Promisingly, 92% of businesses plan to continue the arrangement.

How has Hostplus responded?

It’s early days for our negotiations with Hostplus, but so far management has rejected this condition.

That’s why they need to hear from you. If you support a four-day work week being trialled at Hostplus, reply to this email and tell us what it would mean for you. Rest assured that any responses we pass on to Hostplus will remain anonymous.

If you’re not already a member of our union, join the team that’s fighting for better work-life balance at Hostplus today.
