Hostplus Agreement voted up – next steps

You will have heard by now that the proposed Hostplus Enterprise Agreement (EA) has been voted up. Unfortunately, management has yet to disclose how many employees voted or what percentage voted ‘yes’ or ‘no’.

We know this wasn’t the result many had hoped for – members engaged in the negotiations had hoped to address issues around overtime and workloads, yet we remain deeply concerned by the new Agreement’s flawed overtime clause.

We’ll continue to work with members to resolve any issues that may arise throughout the duration of this Agreement, including around salary reviews.

Nevertheless, we have also managed to secure various improvements to our pay and conditions, including five days of reproductive leave, a guaranteed pay rise of at least 12% over the next four years (which will increase if CPI is higher), and two additional weeks of paid parental leave.

The one-off $1000 cost-of-living payment will also be paid to employees next week (12 May).

What happens next?

Hostplus management will now prepare an application for the proposed Agreement to be approved by the Fair Work Commission. Our union will prepare a submission to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.

We will continue to work hard to ensure the new Agreement is properly enforced and that all Hostplus staff are recognised for the critical role we play.

If you have any questions about the new EA, you can contact us at [email protected].
