FSU members win major concessions in Insignia restructure

Insignia Financial recently announced significant restructures across its Shadforth and Bridges Advice businesses, which saw FSU members facing redundancy while their jobs were being shifted overseas.

Our union immediately commenced a dispute process. We sought additional protections for members and demanded answers about these offshored roles.

Following members' actions, we're pleased to report that Insignia Financial has agreed to provide additional compensation and protection to impacted staff. These wins mean more money in members' pockets during what is a difficult time.

These additional wins include:

  • Payout of discretionary leave booster benefit (equivalent to an additional week’s pay).
  • Two additional weeks of paid redeployment.
  • Earlier access to redeployment services with no delay, and personalised assistance from a redeployment specialist.
  • Priority assessment of impacted employees for vacant roles, with redeployment extended further for people who are under consideration.
  • Severance calculations to include additional redeployment, increasing final payouts for members.

Well done to FSU members for securing these outcomes, which we hope will make a small yet meaningful difference.

But our work doesn’t end here. Outcomes like these are only possible because many Insignia employees have joined our union. And the more staff who are FSU members, the more influence we have to secure more favourable outcomes when restructures happen.
