Over the last fortnight, our FSU Representatives have formally raised our position on pay increases with Suncorp management – to the CEO at the AGM and at our latest negotiation meeting.
We’re calling for a guaranteed increase for all Suncorp workers that keeps up with the cost of living. Management has said they’ll put forward their offer soon, so time will tell if they’re prepared to step up.
We all still have a role to play
Many of us have never gone through the process of negotiating a new Enterprise Agreement before. After all, it’s been 10 years since Suncorp Insurance came to the table to negotiate better wages and conditions for us hard-working employees.
It’s important to understand that there is only so much our union can do without Suncorp employees engaging in the process, particularly if management aren’t prepared to offer what we’re asking.
The main thing that will influence management’s position on key elements of negotiations – including our pay – is whether you and your colleagues are engaged with what’s going on.
Management will be asking: Are staff talking about the negotiations? How many of them are actually part of the union? If we put forward a low pay offer, will staff care enough to do something about it?
Here’s how you can make a difference
- Join the FSU – If you’re not already a member, be part of the team that’s fighting for a fair deal at Suncorp. The more employees who join the FSU, the stronger our voice will be.
- Talk to a colleague – Use this flyer to chat with your co-workers about our push for better wages and conditions and why they should join our union.
- Support our agenda – If you agree with what we’re seeking from Suncorp, show your support here.

The wins speak for themselves
We’ve seen it time and time again: those workplaces where staff are engaged, active, and members of our union are the ones that achieve the best results.
Don’t just take our word for it – significant improvements to pay and conditions at Cbus, IAG and BUPA are just some examples of what we can achieve when we work together.
Now it’s our turn!
