Over the last few weeks, hundreds of IAG colleagues stepped up to say that IAG management’s initial pay proposal for a new Enterprise Agreement (EA) is just not good enough.
Fair pay and industry-standard leave entitlements, hours of work and flexible working arrangements were some of the key issues we raised.
After considering the overwhelming feedback from members, management has put forward an improved offer.
Register for one of our important FSU online meetings where we’ll discuss management’s latest proposal and next steps.
Monday 24 June, 7pm (AEST)
Tuesday 25 June, 12.30pm (AEST)
What improvements have we gained from IAG?
- Increased pay offer for staff in IAG’s two proposed tiers of pay.
Under the new proposal, staff in career bands 1-3 would receive a guaranteed fixed pay increase of 3.75% in year one, 3.25% in year two and 2.5% in year three.
Those in career bands 4-5 would receive a guaranteed fixed pay increase of 3% in year one, 2.5% in year two and 2% for year three. Additional discretionary pay would continue to apply.
In contrast to IAG’s previous pay proposal, all career band 3 staff would now move to the higher paid tier. IAG management have also agreed to remove the existing salary cap so that those at the top of their salary band would now receive all increases to their base salary.
- Paid parental leave will now be gender-neutral and will increase from 14 to 20 weeks, including removal of the 12-month qualifying period so that new starters can access this entitlement straight away.
- Increased leave for those experiencing family and domestic violence (FDV) from 10 days to uncapped, with the introduction of 10 days leave now available for those supporting victims of FDV.
These improvements are a direct result of all us engaging with our campaign and making our voices heard – well done.
However, many outstanding issues have still not been addressed in management’s latest proposal. This includes hours of work issues and recognition of working from home. IAG have not backed down on their introduction of a qualifying period, removal of income protection, and reduction of the job search period from the current redundancy, redeployment and retrenchment provisions.
So make sure you register for a meeting above and invite your colleagues along so we can further discuss these issues. We encourage you to provide any questions or feedback prior to next week’s FSU meeting here.
