Longer work days + worse conditions = NO from us

ANZ’s offer for our new Suncorp Bank Enterprise Agreement (EA) includes longer working days, insecure or no fixed pay increases, and less of us covered by the EA.

Despite this, management has foreshadowed an upcoming ballot on this poor proposal.

If we want to stop this proposal becoming our new Agreement, we must commit to voting ‘no’ when the time comes. Luke, will you stand with your colleagues and commit to voting ‘no’?

I commit to voting ‘no’!

Exactly what’s at risk?

Despite our union consistently raising with ANZ the real pressures we face at work – including cost of living pressures, the need for genuine work/life balance, and the importance of job security and consultation rights – management has failed to adequately address any of these in their offer.

Instead, ANZ wants to ‘harmonise’ our conditions, which translates to:

  • Increasing the ordinary work week from 37.5 hours to 40 hours (equal to an extra three weeks per year).
  • Fixed salary increases for some, which fail to address the fall in real wages we have experienced.
  • No pay certainty for almost half of Suncorp Bank employees, risking further real-world wage cuts.
  • Adopting ANZ policies and practices that erode our Suncorp Bank culture.

You can read our full analysis of ANZ’s proposal here (we’ve added updated information on the current state of play and a breakdown of the redundancy offer).
