Our advice regarding Infosys contracts
The FSU was in the FWC again this week, this time with representatives…
In a step forward for health and safety at Bendigo Bank, our FSU Representatives and Bendigo Bank management have agreed to establish Health and Safety Reps (HSRs) across various worksites in Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.
This is a direct result of the FSU’s dispute last year against Bendigo Bank, which raised concerns about the bank’s compliance with their health and safety obligations during periods of change.
HSRs are workers who are elected to represent the health and safety interests of their fellow employees, and play an integral role in identifying and escalating health and safety concerns at work.
You can read more about these important roles here.
Bendigo Bank has now called for expressions of interest via their own internal staff communication channels. You can read more information about the process and apply via the Bendigo Bank staff intranet. Keep an eye out for Bendigo Bank’s weekly ‘Bounce’ newsletter on 14 May for more information.
There will be 10 HSR vacancies for Victoria, five for Queensland, and four for South Australia. Vacancies will depend on your work location and department.
It is important that every HSR vacancy is filled, otherwise workers in that area will not have access to a HSR representing their health and safety interests.
As a HSR you will receive formal training and support from the FSU on how to represent your colleagues in matters of workplace health and safety.
If you have any questions or would like further information, please reach out to your FSU Organiser Lochie Curran on 0434 166 955 or email [email protected], or contact your FSU Rep.
