Our union has filed a dispute in the Fair Work Commission against Bendigo Bank, following management’s distressing announcement that 637 jobs would be impacted by a proposed change, including 145 job cuts.
We requested an urgent hearing on the basis that Bendigo Bank had failed to provide the sufficient information required for genuine consultation.
Our hearing took place on Friday, and Bendigo Bank has until COB today (Monday) to respond to our questions. We also managed to extend the consultation period until Wednesday 17 September.
Bendigo’s response
We are holding an important information session for FSU members on Thursday to report back on Bendigo Bank’s response to our questions. Please register and attend to ensure you have the latest information and so you can ask any questions.
Thursday 18 September, 12.30pm (AEST)
And if you haven’t provided your feedback on Bendigo Bank’s five-year strategy (which is proving to be an exercise in nothing more than job cuts, offshoring and gutting branches), please do so here.
