Our Westpac dispute escalates to Fair Work

Following our union lodging a dispute with Westpac regarding the bank’s failure to properly consult on retail job cuts, we have now escalated the matter to the Fair Work Commission.

Specifically, we’ve called on the Commission to stop Westpac from progressing any further with their proposed job cuts until our dispute with the bank is resolved.

So that we can progress this dispute as soon as possible, we have asked for conciliation in the Commission as a matter of urgency.

If you haven’t already, please support our FSU list of demands calling on Westpac to:

  • provide real choice for impacted employees
  • properly consult on proposed cuts, including how workloads will be managed
  • delay all changes until the new year.

I support our list of demands for Westpac

We’ll have more updates soon as our disputes progress. If you’re not yet a member of our union, join today to ensure you have the support and protection you need.
