We voted YES to our new pay rise at Great Southern Bank!

We did it! Great Southern Bank employees have voted up our new Enterprise Agreement (EA), with an overwhelming 92.3% voting ‘yes’.

Congratulations to every FSU member for achieving this fantastic result! As you know, it hasn’t come from nowhere. Workers don’t achieve improvements to our pay and conditions because of the good-natured generosity of employers – we fight for these improvements, and we do it together.

Here’s what we’ve won together in our new EA:

  • An 11.25% guaranteed pay rise for level 1 employees.

  • A 6% guaranteed pay rise for level 2 employees, plus annual discretionary increase. This will be the first time these employees will receive a guaranteed pay rise.

  • Strengthened consultation and transparency regarding the use of artificial intelligence.

  • An obligation on Great Southern Bank to consult and provide notice on any changes to office attendance requirements.

  • Paid parental leave increased from 13 to 18 weeks, plus expanded access for secondary carers.

What happens now?

Once our EA gets the final tick of approval from the Fair Work Commission, our new wages and conditions will apply.

Our work doesn’t end here, though. To continue securing positive outcomes in the future – and to ensure our new EA is correctly implemented – we must keep our union strong across Great Southern Bank.

Congratulations once again on this terrific result!
