RBA members stand firm and reject below-inflation pay offer for a second time!
A huge congratulations to FSU members at the RBA for rejecting management's substandard…
Following persistent calls from FSU members, CBA announced earlier this month that it will extend its moratorium on regional branch closures to at least December 2030.
It means CBA will join Westpac as the only two of the Big Four Banks to extend their moratorium until 2030, while NAB and ANZ’s moratoriums are still due to expire in 2027.
This month’s announcement is a huge win for regional branch workers and their local communities. Importantly, it wouldn’t have happened without FSU members standing together and demanding CBA continue to provide this essential service.
FSU members have long campaigned to protect our local bank branches. We know how much communities, including our most vulnerable customers, rely on face-to-face banking and on the skilled staff who provide it.
But there is still more to do. These moratoriums only cover regional branches. This year alone, CBA has closed or announced the closure of 29 metropolitan branches, despite turning record profits. We will continue calling on all banks to extend their moratoriums to all branches so that every community has this essential service.
Job security is at the heart of what the FSU fights for every day. We welcome this latest announcement from CBA, which provides further certainty and security for regional branch workers.
