Zurich proposed Agreement voted up

You will have heard by now that the proposed Zurich Enterprise Agreement (EA) has been voted up, with 64% of staff voting yes.

We know this wasn’t the result many of you hoped for. This outcome was by no means a strong endorsement of Zurich’s proposal and reflects a broader expectation from insurance industry employees who are looking for certainty in their conditions of employment.

Guaranteed pay for the first time

In this Agreement we have won a guaranteed pay component for the first time. But it does not apply to everyone and thousands of you have said Zurich can do better. We plan to continue working hard over the life of this EA to achieve real guaranteed pay outcomes and industry leading conditions for all Zurich employees.

We are proud of the hard work and commitment from FSU Workplace Representatives, union members, and everyone who took action. Without your collective efforts the improvements to pay and conditions we have achieved would not have been possible.

What happens next?

Zurich management will now prepare an application for the proposed EA to be approved by the Fair Work Commission. Our Union will prepare a submission to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.

We will continue to work hard to ensure Zurich staff have a strong voice. If you have any questions about the new EA, you can contact us at [email protected].
