Over the past few months, we’ve made steady progress with negotiating our new Great Southern Bank Enterprise Agreement (EA) – specifically around improvements to parental leave and family and domestic violence leave.
Here is our agenda for new wages and conditions, which we have provided to management.
Unfortunately, there are still three key areas where GSB is not doing enough and needs to improve their position on if we are to arrive at a suitable offer:
Pay
- Proposed increases of up to 11% over three years for level 1 non-packaged staff.
- No guaranteed increases for level 2 packaged staff.
- No further transparency on the operation of incentive schemes.
Flexibility
- Unwillingness to include a commitment of no more than 60% office attendance.
- Not addressing concerns about any changes to the in-office requirement or links to performance or pay outcomes.
Staffing
No changes to address understaffing, despite members reporting concerns (particularly in retail).
Union meetings
There are other important updates that all GSB employees need to know before we can continue negotiations. Please come to one of our meetings either in your workplace (for non-retail members) or online (for retail members).
Non-retail meetings:
- When: Tuesday 10 June, 12pm
- Where: Brisbane (Level 25, 300 George Street) or Melbourne (Level 13, 627 Chapel Street, South Yarra)
Retail meetings:
Remember, we have a greater chance of shifting management’s position on the above key issues if we all work together. Please share this update with your colleagues and invite them to our meetings. And if you’re not yet a member of the FSU, now is the time to join.
