Meeting to consider AustralianSuper’s ‘settlement’ position

Negotiations for our new Enterprise Agreement are reaching a critical point! Come along to an important union meeting to review AustralianSuper's settlement position.

We will determine our position and next steps during these meetings, so you must be an FSU member to attend and have your say.

What's happened?

AustralianSuper has failed to improve its position on any of our key issues, despite us putting our settlement position to them last week.

This includes management refusing to improve their position on pay and superannuation.

Instead, management has provided their own settlement position and made an unreasonable request that we respond by Monday 24 August. Management is calling their very average settlement position their "best offer" and say they will put their offer to a vote in September.

Incredibly, management has also said that their settlement position is provided “conditional on the withdrawal of FSU claims not addressed in the offer” and that they will only provide back pay if we accept their settlement position.

We didn’t think the fund would stoop to bully tactics – and yet here we are. All this from a fund that claims it wants to be the number one employer in finance.

That's not how negotiations work, and management knows this. This is merely an attempt to pressure us to agree to their position.

Therefore, we will not be adhering to their self-imposed timeline just so management can rush this crucial stage of negotiations.

If you're a member, please register for your preferred union meeting above. If you're not a member, join today to ensure you have a voice and get the protection you need.

Our goal remains the same: to secure a quality Enterprise Agreement that addresses our concerns and respects and rewards AustralianSuper employees.

We hope to see you online at one of our union meetings.
