Are you working over UniSuper’s office shutdown period?

UniSuper’s usual shutdown over Christmas and New Year will take place from Monday 29 December to Wednesday 31 December, however some Contact Centre staff will continue working during the core servicing period.

But what happens if you become unwell or need to provide care or support to a member of your immediate family during this period?

If you are rostered to work during this time, the usual leave arrangements apply. Let your people leader or their delegate know as soon as possible. You don’t need to disclose the reason for your absence. Any time away will be paid as personal/carer’s leave and deducted from your leave balance.

Alternatively, UniSuper has confirmed staff can choose to use the core servicing period leave day(s) instead of using personal leave/carers leave if that is your preference. Keep in mind that will reduce the substituted leave days in lieu and will be counted as a full day of leave. If any questions or issues arise, please contact the FSU on 1300 366 378 or your FSU rep Helen Breier who will be working during the core servicing period and is also available for advice.

Those not working during the core servicing period will receive the usual additional paid leave, with no deduction from leave balances.
