Today is Equal Pay Day at UniSuper – the day that marks, on average, how much longer women must work after the financial year (30 June) to earn the same as men.
At UniSuper, our gender pay gap is 14.9%. That means women here must work an extra 64 days just to catch up to their male colleagues. It’s a stark reminder that we’ve still got a long way to go before we see real pay in our workplace.
We know this is an issue felt deeply at UniSuper. That’s why the FSU is continuing to push for action to close the gap and create a fairer workplace.
Equal Pay Day is the perfect time to shine a light on what’s driving the gender pay gap in our sector, how it impacts our workplaces, and what can be done to close it. Book an FSU-hosted lunch and learn session to unpack these issues.
There are things we can all do right now to help drive change. Download our Equal Pay Day poster, and display it in your lunchroom, on noticeboards, or anywhere our colleagues will see it.
