Bupa has responded to our feedback regarding their proposal to implement a two-day work from office (WFO) mandate for CVC employees.
After we raised members’ concerns directly with Bupa, management confirmed the following for CVC employees:
- Office attendance will not be linked with an employee’s performance evaluations.
- Employees will not be required to substitute days in the office when leave is taken.
- Existing working arrangements will remain for staff who are not based near a corporate office.
While these are positive steps, we urge members to monitor whether Bupa honours these commitments and to report any issues to our union.
Issues still remain…
It’s important to note that the above commitments only relate to CVC employees, and at this stage do not extend to technology and digital employees.
Bupa is also refusing to rule out expanding its WFO expectations in the future.
This is causing considerable stress and uncertainty for employees. Flexible working arrangements should be applied fairly across the organisation, and we’ll continue to engage directly with management to ensure this expectation is met.
What happens now?
Bupa has stated they will consider employees’ personal circumstances on a case-by-case basis, including legitimate requirements to work from home.
Therefore, it is critical that you raise any personal circumstances that may prevent you from meeting Bupa’s WFO expectations with management. Our union is here to help you with this.
