Job cuts at RIA/IIA – Your concerns put to IAG management

The FSU is continuing to do everything we can to support IAG staff and ensure your rights are protected throughout management’s agenda of devastating job cuts across Retail Insurance and Intermediated Insurance.

Since our member meeting in late September, the FSU has put your concerns directly to IAG management. We raised issues regarding the rushed consultation process, the impact these cuts will have on workloads, issues with the business case behind redundant roles, and the selection process for new roles. We also demanded to know how redundancy entitlements will be applied under the new agreement.

The cuts announcement also generated national media attention last week, following a push by the FSU. It’s up to management to explain how they can justify these job cuts when insurance profits have risen nearly 80% since last year.

Management’s response and next steps

Management has now responded to our concerns. To discuss their response and where we go from here, please register and attend our important FSU meeting next Monday 14 October, 7pm (AEDT).

We understand this is a difficult time and that these changes have come as a shock to many. Management’s approach has been unsympathetic, unacceptable and deeply troubling to so many.

We’ll continue to engage with IAG to get more information on behalf of members and ensure management deliver on their obligations regarding proper consultation and compensation.
