Our union, the FSU, is taking AustralianSuper to the Fair Work Commission for failing to meet its obligations under our Enterprise Agreement.
This is big news, and not something we do lightly.
As you have probably heard, AustralianSuper is proposing a big restructure in the Member Domain. These changes are impacting 44 of our colleagues, and AustralianSuper is refusing to guarantee that they will all be offered a job at the end of it (despite saying that 45 new jobs are being created!).
The roles that are slated to go are some of the most important to AustralianSuper members. These are the people who provide education to members, workplace leaders and build relationships with essential stakeholders.
Our dispute with the Fund relates to their consultation, redeployment and procedural obligations, which all centre on making sure you are treated fairly when things change at work.
We have made sensible proposals to AustralianSuper to resolve this dispute, but they have rejected them, leaving us with no option but to escalate to the Fair Work Commission.
We will keep you updated as things progress. If you aren’t yet a member of our union community at AustralianSuper, join the team who has your back when things change at work.
