Clarification of flexible work arrangements at Cbus

In the past week we have spoken with Cbus leadership to clarify expectations around flexible working arrangements.

Cbus leadership confirmed that we are on the same page when it comes to how we are reading the flexibility rights in clause 18 of our Enterprise Agreement.

Here are some of the key points:

  • Generally people will come into the office 60% of the time, but this must be determined through consultation with workers.

  • Hybrid working arrangements may involve coming into the office more or less than 60% of the time where:
    • An employee’s role requires them to be in the office more than 60%
    • Someone chooses to come into the office more than 60% of the time
    • A team determines its own hybrid arrangement that may involve less than 60% in the office
    • An employee needs access to greater short-term flexibility and Cbus agrees to that.

  • Flexible working arrangements are still available for everyone. Requests for a flexible working arrangement can only be rejected by Cbus on reasonable business grounds.
